Foundation Awards
Every year, Arconic (previously ALCOA) and the SCC Foundation present the ARCONIC Leadership Award. Nominees are considered for their contributions to the community, exemplary leadership, and dedication to Scott Community College.
2023 Recipient: Perkins Family
On behalf of ARCONIC and the SCC Foundation it was our honor to present this year’s
ARCONIC Leadership award to the Perkins Family for their families dedication to the
SCC Foundation, the college and to students. Lysa Hegland, Director of Operations
and Resource Development shared, “I had the pleasure of working with Teresa Perkins
when I began on the board 15 years ago. Teresa served on the SCC Foundation from
1998 until 2008. When she termed off the board she recommended her son Beau to fill
her seat. Beau has served since 2008 – he’s served now for 15 years.
The Perkins family established their own Diesel Technology scholarship when the program began at the college, they purchased the former “Wacky Waters” site from EICC when the district was selling the land, and they have always been the first of our board members to pledge lead gifts to any and all our campaigns. Their dedication to the Foundation and College has been unwavering for over 25 years.” Congratulations goes to the Perkins Family for their many years of leadership!
