FAQs

The ClintonStarter program was created to encourage Clinton Community College employees to propose ideas for entrepreneurial college activities.

ClintonStarter funding is one-time funding for ideas that:

  • generate net revenue for the college,
  • increase enrollment, or
  • improve retention

  • Receive funding for innovative, untested ideas
  • Provide support for entrepreneurial projects that generate revenue, increase enrollment, or improve retention
  • Offer short-term, trial period funding

ClintonStarter can award from $1,000 to $9,000 for an innovative project

  • Supplement standard department work or activities
  • Support for previously planned activities
  • Permanent funding for long-term operation costs

Your proposal should include an explanation of your ClintonStarter project. Please provide a cost estimate in a budget format that explains the details of your project. Include estimates of costs outside standard department expenses. The committee will look for information about anticipated revenue or enrollment increases associated with your proposal. Include information on how you reached your proposal estimate. The committee may ask for additional information.

The ClintonStarter committee completes a score sheet for each proposal. The committee will discuss and share evaluations, and may request additional information. Once the committee makes a decision about each proposal, funding recommendations will be made to the CCC College President and the CCC Paul B. Sharar Foundation Executive Director.

ClintonStarter primary goal is to increase revenue through enrollment and retention ideas. It is possible that surplus could be available to continue your program, depending on your department funding structure.

ClintonStarter funds are available to all departments. The committee will assess whether your proposal is within the scope of your department’s existing funding structure. The objective of the proposal is to have a net positive impact on the college’s general fund.
