Our Community

Eastern Iowa Community Colleges (EICC) serves Clinton, Muscatine, Scott, and Jackson counties, as well as parts of Cedar and Louisa counties. Our district spans 120 miles along the Mississippi River and includes urban and rural landscapes. These six counties are home to 310,803 residents; people of all ages, cultures, ethnicities, and experiences who enrich our classrooms, neighborhoods, and communities.

Eastern Iowa is a great place to live and work. Here, we support our businesses. We support our students. And we support our communities. The area is advancing and EICC is proud to contribute to that progress by providing affordable and accessible education and workforce training programs.

Our region is home to several Fortune 500 companies, including Deere & Company and HNI Corp. Our Career and Technical Education (CTE) graduates leave us and go on to forge careers with some of the area’s largest employers, including Unity Point Health, Genesis Health Systems, Arconic, Guardian Industries, HUSCO, and more. EICC is feeding the region’s need for highly skilled workers and catering training programs for those who come next.

We’re honored to have the support of the communities we serve. In fact, many residents believe that education isn’t a privilege; it’s a right. That’s why educators make sure high school students know about their career options and opportunities early on. They can explore, or step into, a career pathway through an EICC Career Academy or concurrent courses. Some graduate high school with a college certificate, too, and enter the workforce. Some keep going.

In fact, many students use EICC as a step-stone to a four-year university, and we prepare them well. They complete their general education requirements then transfer to a university, making their higher education more affordable and accessible.

This region is a place where you can get involved and see the impact of your contributions. EICC has established close ties with the communities we serve, as well as K-12 school districts, employers, civic and community leaders, nonprofit organizations, economic development advocates, and chambers of commerce. EICC administrators, faculty, and staff actively serve on local boards and committees, and they do the same for us. Our work intersects and interweaves, because everyone wants students to be successful and our region strong. We know we can’t be one without the other.
