Applications are due by Friday, Dec. 5, at 11:59 p.m.
APPLY FOR THE PROGRAMShare your story. Inspire others. Get paid for it.
If you love storytelling, capturing moments on camera, or finding creative ways to connect with people — this opportunity is for you.
Eastern Iowa Community Colleges (EICC) is now accepting applications for its Spring 2026 Student Content Creator Program. The paid, semester-long experience is designed exclusively for current EICC students.
Video was shot and edited by Clarisa Ostrowski, SCC Student Content Creator.
As a Student Content Creator, you’ll help tell the story of what it’s really like to be an EICC student — from events and achievements to day-in-the-life moments that bring campus life to social media. Working alongside the college’s marketing team, you’ll brainstorm, film, photograph, and edit content that connects students, staff, and the community.
“This program puts the storytelling power directly in your hands,” said Johnna Kerres, Associate Director for Marketing and Communications. “You get to represent your campus, express your creativity, and show the world what being an EICC student is all about. It’s your perspective that makes the content so powerful, because no one can tell our story better than you.”
Create. Collaborate. Grow.
Student Content Creators become part of the college’s marketing team, learning how to develop strategy, craft engaging stories, and create visuals that resonate. You’ll gain hands-on experience in photography, videography, writing, and social media, all while strengthening skills that translate directly to future careers.
Participants earn a $500 stipend, receive one-on-one mentorship from EICC marketing professionals, and see their work featured across official EICC platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, X, and Pinterest.
“It’s one of the most creative roles a student can have on campus,” said Griffin Wagner, Marketing Coordinator. “Our creators learn how to plan content, manage projects, and collaborate. The most rewarding part is watching their confidence grow. They see their work published, hear feedback, and realize their mark on the campus community.”
