As a Student Content Creator, you'll develop captivating content across various social media platforms to boost campus engagement and highlight the achievements and opportunities at EICC. You'll collaborate closely with the marketing team, working on projects, refining your storytelling techniques, and enhancing your technical skills to produce impactful content.
What does a Student Content Creator Do?
- Create Compelling Content: Develop visually appealing photography, videography, and graphics to promote campus engagement, student achievements, programs, events, and opportunities.
- Engage with the Community: Interact with the college community through comments, messages, and social media interactions to foster engagement and build relationships.
- Assist with Special Projects: Help plan and execute special projects, campaigns, and student takeovers to showcase unique perspectives and experiences.
- Analyze Metrics: Monitor and analyze engagement metrics to evaluate content effectiveness and make data-driven improvements.
- Curate Relevant Content: Conduct research and source content to share with the college community, staying up-to-date with trends, news, and topics of interest.
Who is Eligible?
To be eligible for the program, students must:
- Be enrolled at EICC during the semester the program takes place.
- Have a passion for social media content creation and a desire to develop skills in photography, videography, video editing, scriptwriting, and/or content curation.
- Possess basic knowledge of photo and video editing software/tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, iMovie, Canva) or a willingness to learn.
- Be able to work collaboratively in a team environment, share ideas, provide constructive feedback, and meet deadlines.
- Be proficient in using social media platforms (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, X, YouTube).
- Maintain a GPA of 2.5 or higher.
- Be able to participate in on-campus events and activities.
- Not be a concurrent high school or career academy student.
- Adhere to EICC policies, including the Technology Usage Policy, Student Code of Conduct, Social Media Policy, Student Use of Social Media Policy, and EICC's Core Expectations of Students.
How to Apply
To apply, complete an online application form and submit a portfolio of work. The marketing team will review submissions and choose one student from each campus.
Selected students will receive an offer letter from the EICC marketing department. Upon acceptance, students will sign a program contract and be admitted into the program for the upcoming semester. Bi-weekly meetings with a member of the marketing department will be required to review assignments and performance.
Why Apply?
Participating in the Student Content Creator Program at EICC offers numerous benefits. Students will receive a $500 stipend and gain valuable collaboration experience by working closely with the marketing department. Through this hands-on opportunity, they’ll help grow both EICC’s and their own social media presence while building a strong portfolio of work. In addition, students will have the chance to get involved on campus, make meaningful connections, and contribute to the campus community.
What Work is Expected?
Students will complete two assignments per week. While there are no set hours, students are expected to participate in campus activities as part of their assignments. Communication with the marketing department will be maintained through Microsoft Teams, text, phone, EICC email, Zoom, or in-person meetings.
Assignments are due by 9 a.m. on Fridays and should be submitted through Microsoft Teams. Examples of weekly assignments include:
- Promoting events
- Attending and creating content for events
- Recap videos
- Day-in-the-life vlogs
- Content relevant to EICC, local communities, or college life
All content will be reviewed to ensure it meets EICC brand standards. Students may be asked to edit their content accordingly. Content will be posted by a member of the marketing department, except for livestreaming events, where students may be given temporary access to post.
