Muscatine Community College (MCC) invites the public to step back in time and experience a magical medieval celebration at its Phi Theta Kappa Renaissance Faire. Hosted by the college’s Beta Zeta Phi Chapter, this highly anticipated event will take place outdoors on Saturday, Sept. 7, from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. at MCC, 152 Colorado St., Muscatine, IA.

The PTK Renaissance Faire promises a day of enchanting entertainment and family-friendly activities, including:

  • Two Puppet Shows: Performed by the renowned Eulenspiegel Puppet Theatre Company, these shows will bring whimsical tales and captivating characters to life.
  • Free Finger Puppet Workshop: A creative opportunity for children to craft their own finger puppets, adding a personal touch to the day’s festivities.
  • Renaissance Revelry: Members of the MCC Theatre Department will roam the faire in splendid Renaissance attire, providing lively entertainment for guests.
  • Games and Food: Attendees can test their skills at various game booths and enjoy delicious treats from local food vendors.

"We are thrilled to host this Renaissance Faire as part of our Honors in Action Project," said Falloyn Grunder, MCC Academic Advisor. "This event is designed to bring our community together, celebrate the power of storytelling, and create lasting memories for all who attend. We are excited to offer a day filled with fun, creativity, and a touch of magic."

Attendees are encouraged to dress in their finest Renaissance attire, whether as valiant knights, cheerful jesters, or majestic queens. For the safety and enjoyment of all, event-goers should refrain from bringing any weaponry. The faire is all about fun, not fierce battles!

The Phi Theta Kappa Renaissance Faire is a community-wide event that welcomes guests of all ages. In the event of inclement weather, the festivities will move inside to Strahan Hall.
