Melissa loves to bring joy to her colleagues, often making them laugh. Outside of work, she cherishes time with her family, enjoys creating art, cooking, and outdoor adventures.   • What inspired you to work in education? 
    Education is our purpose here at EICC and the success stories are so inspirational.
  • What do you enjoy most about your job?
    I enjoy getting to know all of our employees, building relationships and ensuring they know their benefits and employment perks. I also enjoy matching up applicant resumes with open positions. And I like to have fun while at work & make my colleagues laugh whenever possible.
  • Can you share a memorable moment or achievement during your time at the college?
    Recently I wore a Panda costume to surprise Dr. Wee for his birthday - It made my day to see him smile THE BIGGEST I have ever seen.
  • What are your hobbies or interests outside of work? 
    I love being with my family, my husband and our dachshund, Sully but especially our 3 kids: Rowan 2, Gianna 4, and Jayden 21. I enjoy creating art, cooking, working out, outdoorsy adventures and anything that brings a laugh.

  • What is your approach to student engagement and success? 
    Everyone deserves a chance to grow professionally, financially and socially. Each student who completes their degree or certificate should be proud that they are building themselves and it's a win for our community to have that growth as well.
  • Can you share a piece of advice for students or colleagues?
    Just keep trying, You wont know unless you try
  • What’s a fun fact about you that most people don’t know?
    I was a 1st generation college grad and a teen mom my Junior year of high school, so I never thought College could happen for me but eventually a friend showed me how to pursue SCC and I was able to graduate and go on to get my Bachelor's degree. It wasn't easy but it was VERY worth it.
  • If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why?
    Time Travel - I'd go back and relive moments with loved ones if I could
