With nearly two decades of experience in educational business offices—and six years with EICC—Janet brings a deep knowledge of public accounting and a passion for empowering student success through operational excellence. From mentoring student workers to ensuring top-tier resources are in place across the district, Janet’s work touches nearly every corner of our college community.

Beyond the spreadsheets and procurement cycles, Janet’s also a proud grandmother of ten, an avid gardener, and someone who once brought cheer to a pizza-eating contest in a Little Caesar’s costume!   • What inspired you to work in education?
    I have worked in the school business office setting for 18 years and enjoy learning about public accounting principles. As a Purchasing Specialist, I am able to be a part of student success by making sure they are provided with top the facilities, curriculum supplies, and equipment, that help them achieve their goals.
  • What do you enjoy most about your job? 
    Working collaboratively with my colleagues across the district.
  • Can you share a memorable moment or achievement during your time at the college?
    Being able to teach my work study the procure-to-pay cycle and then watching her journey as she transferred to a 4-year college.
  • What are your hobbies or interests outside of work?
    I enjoy gardening, cooking & spending time with my 10 grandchildren.
  • Do you have a favorite quote or motto that motivates you?
    There is no such thing as a dumb question. It allows us to learn and grow.
  • Can you share a piece of advice for students or colleagues?
    Always be open to learning new ways of thinking.
  • What’s a fun fact about you that most people don’t know?
    Once upon a time, I wore the Little Caesar's Pizza guy costume for a pizza eating contest held in Davenport.
  • If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why?
    Telepathy. This would help me to communicate more efficiently with others if I have a better understanding of their thoughts and wishes.
  • What’s your favorite book, movie, or TV show?
    My favorite book & movie is Pride & Prejudice.
