Muscatine Community College will host a “Crafts in a Winter Wonderland” event from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 3, in the Student Center. The event is open to students and community families with children. Admission is one nonperishable food item.

The family-focused event will feature holiday-themed, gift-worthy craft activities suitable for all ages. Children and their families may create items to take home or give as seasonal gifts. Santa will be available for photos, and a hot cocoa bar and refreshments will be provided.

The event is coordinated by MCC Sociology students, and the members of Phi Theta Kappa and All Kinds of People (AKOP). Lori Sheppeard, Associate Professor of Sociology, said MCC students are hosting this event as a way to give back to the same community in which they live, work, and attend school.

The ‘cost’ of admission — one nonperishable food item — ties directly into that goal. All collected items will be assembled into food baskets for families in the Muscatine area.

The event is open to the public. For more information, contact Muscatine Community College at 563-288-6001.
