Protecting employees from strain, fatigue, and workplace injuries is a challenge shared by industries everywhere—from manufacturing and logistics to healthcare and construction. To help address this, Eastern Iowa Community Colleges (EICC), in partnership with Iowa State University’s Center for Industrial Research and Service (CIRAS), is offering an in-person exoskeleton class and demonstration November 14 from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. at Scott Community College.

This interactive session is designed especially for business leaders, managers, and industry professionals who want to explore practical steps for protecting their workforce. But the event is also open to anyone curious about how exoskeletons are being used to enhance productivity, improve safety, and support long-term workforce sustainability.

What You’ll Learn and Experience

  • Understand workplace impact: Learn how exoskeletons can reduce ergonomic strain and help prevent injuries.
  • Explore the technology: Discover the different types of exoskeletons, their features, and their benefits across industries.
  • See it in action: Watch live demonstrations and experience the difference yourself by wearing an exoskeleton and engaging in simulated tasks.

Supporting Workforce Growth and Safety

As part of its mission to strengthen the region’s workforce and support local industries, EICC regularly partners with leading organizations to bring hands-on training and innovative solutions to the community. This class highlights how education and technology combine to create safer, more productive workplaces.
