Two professionals from Eastern Iowa Community Colleges (EICC) have been recognized for their outstanding contributions to career and technical education in Iowa.

Holly Hansen and Jessica Lienen were honored at the 2025 Iowa Association for Career and Technical Education (IACTE) Conference and Awards Ceremony recently held in Altoona. The annual event celebrated 15 educators and leaders from across the state for their impact on teaching, advising, administration, and student engagement.
 
Hansen, a leader in student support and career guidance, received the Counseling and Career Development Professional Award. She was recognized for bridging the gap between education and employment through strong industry partnerships, credentialing initiatives, and comprehensive student outreach. Her student-first approach has helped hundreds of learners pursue meaningful academic and career pathways.
 
Jessica Lienen
Jessica Lienen
Lienen, a healthcare education professional and advocate for student-centered learning, was named Postsecondary Professional of the Year. Her innovative teaching practices — including simulations, trauma-informed care training and experiential learning — have empowered students to thrive in both classroom and clinical settings. Lienen’s mentorship and curriculum leadership continue to shape the next generation of healthcare professionals.

The ceremony featured handcrafted trophies designed by students and staff from Des Moines Central Campus, highlighting the creativity and craftsmanship fostered by Iowa’s CTE programs.
