Haley DeGreve, founder of the Gray Matters Collective, will share the importance of mental health support and her path to creating the organization during a Sept. 11 presentation at Muscatine Community College (MCC).
This free, public event starts at 6 p.m. at the MCC theatre. Following the presentation, the MCC chapter of the Gray Matters Collective will host a reception.
Founded in 2018, the Gray Matters Collective grew from DeGreve’s involvement in a mental health campaign when she was a student at Augustana College. Under her leadership, it evolved into a non-profit organization determined to provide the resources and support students need to thrive.
The Collective has grown to 33 chapters, providing students with the tools, knowledge, and training to help themselves and others with mental health problems; create a safe community for students to be seen, heard, and loved; provide resources for those who need it; and empower students to lead, navigate hard conversations, and develop empathy.
