Holocaust survivor Yvonne Aronson will share her powerful firsthand account of loss and resilience on April 11 at Muscatine Community College (MCC).  
 
The event, Remembering the Holocaust: A Talk with a Survivor, is open to the public and begins at 1 p.m. in the MCC Student Center, 152 Colorado St., Muscatine, Iowa.   
  
Aronson was born in 1939, and the next year, her father and brother were taken to a labor camp in southern France. She remained in Brussels with her mother and other relatives, until eventually, they went into hiding in a convent. Over the next few years, Aronson and her mother evaded persecution, surviving until the war ended thanks to the generosity of a pharmacist who hid them in his cellar, and then a widow who hid and cared for her for more than three years.  
 
Her father died in Auschwitz. Aronson immigrated to the U.S. in March 1947.
