Eastern Iowa Community Colleges (EICC) Director of Human Resources, Brooke Sweeney-Adrian, was honored Aug. 24 as a Forty Under 40 award recipient during a ceremony at the Quad Cities Waterfront Convention Center, Bettendorf.
The award celebrates her leadership, many achievements, professional and personal contributions.
The award, launched in 2022 by the Quad Cities Regional Business Journal, recognizes 40 leaders under the age of 40 who are making an impact at work, in the community, and within the region. Winners are selected by a panel of past honorees based on professional achievement and civic involvement.
Sweeney-Adrian joined EICC on Jan. 9 to lead the growing HR department and provide support to more than 800 faculty and staff who serve students and businesses across 17 EICC locations. Prior to joining EICC, she worked for six years as the HR Generalist for the City of Bettendorf. She’s also held positions at Allsteel, HNI Corporation, and Advantech Solutions.
Within the region, she currently serves on the board or in other volunteer capacities with the Employers’ Council of Iowa, Quad Cities HEARTSafe Coalition, Quad City Health Initiative, and Quad Cities Marathon.
In the past, she also served as volunteer support staff and training lead with Esperanza Legal Assistance Center, and volunteer and refugee issues trainer for Exodus World Service.
Sweeny-Adrian holds an undergraduate degree from Elmhurst University and a Master of Public Administration from Upper Iowa University.
