It’s OK to get help.

Nearly 1 in 5 US adults live with a mental illness.  Mental illness is not uncommon and is a disease just like diabetes and cancer, which is why we all must work to end the stigma surrounding receiving mental health treatment. Seeking mental health support is not a sign of weakness, but rather a sign of strength. It takes more courage to seek help and deal with our issues than it does to turn away from them. 

EICC Student Assistance Program

EICC is proud to offer free, compassionate, and confidential mental health support for our students through our SAP program. EICC’s SAP services are designed to help students and their eligible family members identify and resolve personal concerns. Call to book an appointment today at 309-779-2273.

When to Call?

SAP services are not just for those in crisis. Students are encouraged to reach out any time they are experiencing:

  • Difficulty concentrating/completing work or academic tasks on time
  • Self-defeating behaviors and habits such as procrastination
  • Problems with stress-management
  • Difficulty coping with traumatic events
  • Family or relationship problems
  • Issues due to grief and loss
  • Depression or lack of motivation
  • Anxiety or anxiety symptoms
  • Anger problems and more 

Caring for our mental health improves our communication and interpersonal skills as well as out self-acceptance and self-esteem. Working with a counselor can help you learn how to change self-defeating behaviors and habits, how to better manage and express emotions in a healthy way, and provide relief from depression, anxiety, or other mental health conditions.
