Gain real-world experience in the Information Technology industry developing a real-life Virtual Reality/Augmented Reality project from concept to deployment. You’ll use the industry-standard Agile framework and widely-used tools such as Unity Engine, Autodesk’s 3DS MAX modeling suite, Adobe Photoshop and Substance Painter.
The program is housed in our state-of-the-art facility at Scott Community College’s new Urban Campus in downtown Davenport and is also available completely online. Each student has their own work station fully equipped with the technology they need to be successful in creating Virtual and Augmented Reality content and applications for industry and workforce training.
Graduates emerge market-ready from the academy with the kind of hands-on industry experience employers value most. The projects you complete in class will give you a well-structured portfolio of work in cutting-edge technology.
Through a variety of professional development workshops, we’ll assist you in creating a polished resume, an established social media presence and training in the job application process. We also conduct an annual job fair, on campus, bringing employers in to meet with you and view your portfolio.
The state of Iowa’s Last Dollar Program pays the tuition for students enrolled in high demand programs. Employers are looking hard to find well-trained and ready-to-go employees and all of EICC’s Information Technology programs are included.
The Iowa Tuition program works very simply. You just file the FAFSA, the standard, free, form for applying for financial aid. Once it’s determined how much you receive from other sources, the state pays the difference. Even if you receive nothing at all, Iowa picks up the full cost.
Bottom line, you pay NO tuition.
“We hired a student from the 2018 program and he has surpassed our expectations. The AVR Academy students know more than how to create VR content; they are problem solvers who work well on cross-functional teams.”
