Theatre and Music
Step onto the stage and continue your theatre or music career at Muscatine (MCC) and Scott Community Colleges (SCC).
Theatre programs are available at both colleges. Muscatine also offers choir and jazz choir.
One of the great advantages we have in being a two-year college is you will be performing in your first year on campus. Unlike larger, four-year, institutions where students sometimes wait until their junior or senior years before being in the spotlight, you’ll be on stage as soon as you start classes with us.
Productions and performances are posted in our events calendar.
Muscatine Community College
Both MCC’s choir and theatre facilities have been completely remodeled. The choir
room is a beautiful space designed specifically for choir rehearsals and classes.
The theatre has been transformed into a black box theatre, providing the ideal flexibility
for it to be arranged to meet the demands of any theatrical performance.
MCC has established six scholarships specifically for theatre and music students. Auditions are held each year to determine the recipients.
MCC students also take advantage of the college’s housing, located right on campus, steps from the theatre and choir room.

Scott Community College
SCC’s theatre program has experienced a rebirth in the last several years, including
unveiling of a new theatre space. The college renovated previous classroom space to
create the theatre, dedicated to the program.
The programs productions range from the dramatic to the hilarious. Recent performances have included Sister Mary Ignatius Explains It All for You, Lives of Saints and Neil Simon’s The Good Doctor.
