What You Learn in Culinary Arts

You learn what it takes to prepare food, run a kitchen, and understand the business behind every plate.

Study sanitation and safety, baking, food prep, menu planning, nutrition, purchasing, cost control, management, and profit engineering. Practice the techniques that make a dish work, from sauces and proteins to batch cooking and cold food preparation.

You choose the path that fits your goals: a certificate, diploma, or degree. And if you want to earn your Journeyman Card, we'll help you get started before you graduate. 

What Can I Do With a Culinary Arts Degree?

Be a Journeyman Chef

Strengthen your resume with a U.S. Department of Labor Journeyman Chef Certificate. We have a list and long-time relationships with apprenticeship employers. You earn as you learn and can graduate in two years with a Culinary Arts degree and Journeyman Card.

Start in High School

Get a jump on your college education while you're in high school. Choose a Career Academy and complete a semester to a full year of courses.
