Dr. O, as she is known by faculty and students, is known for having authentic and collaborative relationships with faculty, staff, and students. She works diligently to cultivate respectful, collaborative, learning centered communities, rich in experiential and applied learning designed to empower students to exceed their own expectations and leave school with the tools and confidence necessary for success. She attributes much of her success to her ability to cultivate collaboration across campus departments.

Having practiced as a social worker, she believes in a strengths-based approach to relationships, advocacy for those with marginalized voices, empathy, compassion, humility, and service. She is a first-generation graduate and knows first-hand how earning a college degree can change not only the graduate’s life, but the lives of their family and those they touch throughout their life journey and for generations to come. She is passionate about providing access and opportunity so that everyone who wants a chance to change their life through formal education can have it.

Dr. O’Reilly earned her Bachelor of Science from Purdue University School of Science at Indianapolis, majoring in psychology and minoring in history. She earned her Master of Social Work degree from the Indiana University School of Social Work at Indianapolis, with an emphasis in school social work. She then went on to earn her Doctor of Health Professions Education from A.T. Still University. As a lifelong learner she continued her formal educational journey by earning her certificate in Management and Leadership in Education from Harvard University’s Graduate School of Education Institute for Management and Leadership in Education, her Master of Business Administration with a double emphasis in Data Analytics and Human Resource Management from the University of St. Francis, and she is currently working on her Master of Science in Marriage and Family Studies from Lee University.

Kimberly has over 15 years of experience assisting institutions with accreditation activities at the institutional and programmatic level. She has served as a HLC peer reviewer since 2012 assisting with numerous substantive change reviews, federal compliance reviews, and site visits. In addition to traditional accreditation experience, she is also a reviewer for the Quality Texas Foundation, a state level (for multiple states) Baldrige Performance Excellence organization. Through her work as a reviewer, she has reviewed and evaluated organizational excellence best practices for multiple organizations.

In addition to her accreditation service, Dr. O’Reilly has served her professional community as Vice President of the Independent Colleges and Universities of Missouri, served as a board member and board chair of the Higher Education Consortium of Greater St. Louis, and as a board member and membership chair for the Missouri Association for Social Welfare. She is a frequent speaker at education and leadership conferences speaking on topics such as assessment, leadership, burnout, and organizational excellence.

Her greatest accomplishment is being mom to Bridget, a recent Saint Louis University graduate, Bea, a St. Charles Community College student, and Ben, a rising fifth grader.
