Announcing Three Exciting New Certification Programs at EICC
Eastern Iowa Community Colleges (EICC) is thrilled to announce the addition of three innovative certification programs designed to equip students with unique skills for the modern world. These programs are tailored to meet the growing demand for specialized expertise in passive-aggressive communication, online sleuthing, and paranormal investigation.
Certified Passive-Aggressive Communication Specialist (PACS)
Because sometimes, it’s best to say nothing… but say everything at the same time.
This certification prepares students to master passive-aggressive communication in various settings. Graduates will learn to subtly express discontent, craft condescending emails, and weaponize politeness.
Key Skills:
- Crafting “per my last email” responses
- Strategic sighs and eye-rolls
- Subtle punctuation use
- Fake politeness
- Withholding key information
- Advanced guilt-tripping
- Indirect conflict resolution
Career Paths
Graduates will be well-prepared for roles such as Corporate Middle Management, Email Correspondence Specialist, HOA Board Member, Guilt-Tripping Parent Consultant, and Retail Customer Who “Wants to Speak to a Manager.”

Certified Online Sleuth & Citizen Detective (COSCD)
Do you spend more time analyzing true crime documentaries than doing actual work? Have you ever whispered “something doesn’t add up” while watching Netflix? Then this cutting-edge certification program is for you!
This hands-on course equips students with skills to crack cold cases, construct speculative theories, and develop a podcast voice. Graduates will be confident amateur detectives.
Key Skills:
- Constructing crime boards
- Dramatic documentary voiceovers
- Decoding suspicious messages
- Deep dives into Venmo transactions
- Alibi detection techniques
- Understanding defamation risks
Career Paths
Graduates will be highly unqualified but deeply passionate candidates for roles such as True Crime Podcast Host, Unpaid Reddit Detective, Netflix Docuseries “Expert” Interviewee, Social Media Sleuth, Anonymous Letter-to-the-Editor Writer, Breakroom Crime Investigator, and Person Authorities Politely Ask to “Stop Involving Themselves.”

Certified Paranormal Investigator & Cryptid Researcher (CPICR)
Because the truth is out there… and it’s probably blurry.
This program is for those dedicated to proving the existence of ghosts, aliens, and Bigfoot. Students will develop expertise in blurry photography, dramatic flashlight work, and interpreting creaky floorboards as paranormal evidence.
Key Skills:
- Turning noises into paranormal evidence
- Dramatic gasping on camera
- Conducting séances
- Using night vision
- Analyzing grainy footage
- Inventing ghost hunting terms
Career Paths
Graduates will be fully equipped for roles such as Paranormal Investigator, UFO Researcher, Bigfoot Expedition Guide, Reality TV Ghost Hunter, Blurry Photograph Analyst, and Late Night AM Radio Guest Expert.
