Welcome to Scott Community College (SCC). Congratulations on your decision to further
your education! Our dedicated faculty and staff are here to help you reach your educational
and career goals in a caring learning environment. We are committed to providing you
high quality and accessible educational opportunities and services. These include
a broad base of general education courses, career technical education and lifelong
learning skills to improve your potential for personal success.
We are here to support and guide you towards tomorrow's opportunities. I encourage
you to utilize the student success centers, tutors, advisors, counselors and other
support services. At SCC we have a learning environment of respect, integrity, honesty,
fairness and courtesy. Learning comes first at SCC.
I also encourage you to take advantage of extracurricular activities to enrich your
educational experience. SCC has over 24 clubs, Phi Theta Kappa International Honor
Society, Student Government, the Great Scott Times newsletter and intercollegiate
athletics among other activities for you to become involved on
campus. Within the SCC section of the student handbook there is more information about
these opportunities.
