Vice Chancellor for Workforce Development Finalists
Eastern Iowa Community Colleges is pleased to announce the three finalists for the Vice Chancellor for Workforce Development. The three finalists will participate in campus forums this April and May. You can learn more about each candidate and see their forum schedules below.
Ashlee Spannagel
Dean of Career and Technical Education & Workforce Development, Southeastern Community College
Ashlee Spannagel, Ed.D., has 12 years of higher education experience and is currently Dean of Career and Technical Education & Workforce for Southeast Community College in West Burlington, Iowa. Prior to this position, she directed grant writing, administration, and compliance for the Regional Office of Education in Monmouth, Illinois, and Illinois Eastern Community Colleges in Olney. Spannagel earned a Doctor of Education from Capella University.

James Hanson
Dean of Business and Industry, South Central College, Minnesota State College & University System
James Hanson has four years of higher education experience and is currently Dean of Business and Industry for South Central College in North Mankato, Minnesota. Before this position, he served the college as Director of Business and Industry, and served seven years as a high school teacher and coach for the North Fayette Community School District. Hanson earned a Master of Arts in Educational Administration and Leadership from the University of Phoenix.

Wendi Tostenson
Vice Chancellor of Education and Students Services, Louisiana Delta Community College
Wendy Tostenson, PhD, has 16 years of higher education experience and is currently Vice Chancellor of Education and Student Affairs for Louisiana Delta Community College in Monroe. Before this position, she served the college as Executive Director of Workforce/Economic Development, a position she accepted after serving 10 years in several leadership roles at Southern Regional Technical College, Moultrie, Georgia. Tostenson earned a Ph.D. in Public Administration from Valdosta State University.
