What You Learn in Practical Nursing

You learn to care for the sick, injured, convalescent, and those with disabilities . You study the human body, medications, nutrition, infections, and more. Graduate academically qualified to take the NCLEX national licensure exam.

What Can I Do With a Practical Nursing Diploma?

You are an important part of the healthcare team and provide care under the supervision of physicians and registered nurses. Monitor patients’ health and provide basic nursing, such as changing bandages and inserting catheters. Keep patients comfortable and discuss the care you are providing. Work in nursing homes and extended care facilities, hospitals, physician offices, and private homes.

You may be eligible to earn a degree in this high-demand field for zero tuition costs! You file for financial aid, and if your Expected Family Contribution is at or below $20,000, the state covers the remaining balance beyond the aid for which you are eligible. More than two dozen career programs qualify, including this one. File your FAFSA by July 15.
