Learn about EICC’s Online Graphic Arts Program — March 30
2/24/23
In 2021, Eastern Iowa Community Colleges moved its long-standing Graphic Arts program entirely online. For more than 25 years, the program has provided students with the
advanced, real-world skills needed to be successful in the graphic design field. Today,
the program boasts students from across the country and continues to provide the same
high-quality education at an affordable cost.
For those interested in exploring a graphic design career, the college is hosting an online information session on Thursday, March 30, at 5:30 p.m. CST. Participants will get to meet the instructors, learn more about the program, discuss career paths, and dive into financial aid opportunities.
To join in on the session, click on the Zoom link during the designated day/time and enter the ID and passcode for entry:

The program includes both a two-year Graphic Arts Technology, Associate in Applied Science Degree, as well as a one-year Graphic Arts Technology Diploma. Students can elect to start in the diploma program and continue on in the associate’s degree, without losing any time or tuition dollars.
In the first year, students dive right into hands-on, in-depth training in Adobe products including Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign. They also receive a strong understanding of important areas such as color theory and correction, drawing, typography, and art appreciation.
The second year includes training in packaging design, study in content management systems for website development, social media branding, and project management. Students will then put their knowledge to the test with an internship and the production of a personal portfolio for use in future job interviews.
Upon completion, graduates have the real-world skills needed for employment in business, commercial printing, media outlets, advertising agencies, website production, and more.
IOWA RESIDENTS GET THEIR TUITION PAID
The graphic arts program is included in Iowa’s Last Dollar program. That means Iowa residents do not have to pay tuition to enroll, it’s all covered.
The program works simply. You file for financial aid and the state covers the remaining balance beyond the aid for which you are eligible. Even if you receive no federal or state aid, the program will pay your entire tuition. That's right, regardless of your personal income situation, you will pay no tuition costs.
For those living outside the state, financial aid is available.
