Hundreds of high school students have taken classes at Clinton, Muscatine, and Scott Community Colleges through EICC’s Career Academy programs. Students can complete anywhere from a semester to a full year of college coursework while they’re still in high school, saving valuable time and money.
“Career Academies are a great way for students, who aren’t sure what they want to do after high school, to get real exposure to a career field and learn what it’s all about,” said Assistant Director for Admissions and Community Outreach at EICC, Heather Evans.
“Not only do they save money, but it cuts down the time—often in half—students spend completing their training after high school. This is a tremendous benefit that everyone should know about in our region.”
Career Academies span in-demand fields in industrial technology, human services and education, agriculture, automotive technology, business, culinary, criminal justice, healthcare, and information technology. The academies offered at each participating high school vary by location.
