University of Dubuque
The University of Dubuque () is a private university affiliated with the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) offering undergraduate, graduate, and theological seminary programs. The University is comprised of individuals from the region, the nation, and the world. As a community, the University practices its Christian faith by educating students and pursuing excellence in scholarship.
Transferring
The University of Dubuque accepts Associate of Science (AS) and Arts (AA) degrees
and will consider a student’s General Education Curriculum mostly completed with the
exception of the Judeo Christian Tradition (JCT) and the capstone course in their
major. will evaluate all non-remedial courses passed, provided the overall grade average
for those courses is 2.0 or better. If the student’s cumulative grade point average
(GPA) is less than 2.0, the University will only evaluate credit for the courses in
which grades earned were C or better.
- Students are required to submit a final, official transcript with proof of the AA
or AS degree for waiver of the General Education Curriculum; exception of JCT and
Capstone.
- Students do not have to attend UD immediately following the completion of their AA
or AS degrees to take advantage of this opportunity.
- Courses completed within the AA or AS degrees will be evaluated for acceptance for required courses within a particular major.
- Transferring to UD with an AA or AS degree does not guarantee a student will graduate
in a set time frame. The prerequisites/course order of different majors impact the
length of time to graduation.
Students transferring to UD with an Associate in Applied Science (AAS) degree will have a course-by-course articulation. This means that UD’s Office of the Registrar will review each course separately to determine course equivalencies and/or UD course requirements.
