I am a Rock Island High School graduate and went there when it was a 3-year high school. My bachelor’s degree is from Iowa State University; and my Master’s of Education (M.Ed.) degree is from the University of Illinois Urbana – Champaign, specializing in Vocational and Technical Education for Special Needs Populations. I have 20+ years of experience working with employment and training programs. It’s something I kind of fell into, but discovered I really enjoyed working with the students, the school faculty and staff, and all the many community agency people I have encountered over the years that work so hard to meet the needs of students. Then is nothing better than seeing students achieve their educational/career goals and obtain employment with their chosen career field.
I like to spend time with my friends and family going out eat, to local events, going on day trips to places like Galena or hiking at Starved Rock or walking in my neighborhood. I also am a huge card player and like to play Backgammon. I am a beginning quilter and hope to be able to spend more time learning new quilting techniques.
