- Effective July 1, 2010 legislation for all Iowa Nurse Aide Training Programs requires
a criminal background check from the Department of Criminal Investigation, and Department
of Health & Human Services Abuse Registry to be performed on all Nurse Aide students.
The criminal background check & the abuse registry check is a mandatory requirement
for all Nurse Aide students. A separate, non-refundable fee of $25 is payable at registration
to EICC. If the student does not successfully pass the criminal background check or
is listed on the Child or Adult Abuse Registry,
no refund will be permitted. - SENATE FILE 2149—CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECKS FOR CNA STUDENTS
The bill amends Iowa’s law regarding background checks. The bill would require students in certified nurse aide training programs to undergo a background check prior to starting the program. The goal is to prevent the situation of a person getting the training only to discover that they are not allowed to be a certified nurse aide, due to their criminal record or having a case of founded abuse on their record. - All classes are pay to register, the fee is $629. Fees are subject to change.
- Choose the class from the list below that will work for you.
- TO REGISTER, Stop by the SCC Urban Campus, 101 West Third Street, Davenport, IA or
