March 24 Student Communication
Welcome to Online Learning. All face-to-face classes will start again tomorrow as online classes.
As a college, we know you have a lot on your mind and a lot on your plate, so Eastern
Iowa Community Colleges - Clinton, Muscatine and Scott wants to make the transition
to online learning as easy as possible for you.
Login into Canvas and check out your classes.
Your faculty have been busy adjusting your courses to online delivery. Today, updated
course content and information has been posted to each class within Canvas. Your instructors are available to answer any questions about your class. You can
post questions within the class in Canvas or send an email directly to your instructor.
If you are having trouble logging into Canvas, contact the college Help Desk at helpdesk@eicc.edu. If you need assistance within Canvas, you can reach out to canvashelp@eicc.edu.
Online Resource Center
We have updated and enhanced our online Student Resource Center. Access it here. The Student Resource Center contains great information on accessing your online
classes, how to contact your instructor, tips on submitting assignments, and much
more.
Tutoring and Library Resources
You have access to free online tutoring from SmartThinking. The tutoring is free for you as a student. In addition, the Student Success Centers
will be offering remote tutoring. Details can be found here. Our libraries are also working to make a variety of online content available to
you. Check out the latest library information here.
Submitting Assignments and Testing
Within Canvas, you will find directions on how to submit assignments. Some assignments
may be modified with the transition to online delivery. Your instructor will communicate
how to complete assignments within Canvas. Our instructors will be adjusting testing
requirements for some classes as well. If your class normally requires a proctored
test, you will receive information on how to complete a proctored test remotely.
Student Services
We have created a web page to help you connect to our Student Development services. Go here to reach Advising, Financial Aid, Registration or other college offices. Our staff are working remotely to continue to provide you services and assist during
this transition. Your advisor is available to meet with you by appointment by phone
or Zoom.
THE Community’s College
During the next few weeks, we will be communicating information, resources, tools,
and tips to help you finish the Spring 2020 semester off strong. Don’t let the idea
of distance learning add to your stress: whether through Canvas, Zoom or even a phone
call, the goal is for instructors, staff and students to stay connected and keep learning
going. With constant communication and a little bit of flexibility, we will get through
this. Together, we are THE Community’s College.
