Maquoketa Advanced Manufacturing Center
Clinton Community College opened its Maquoketa Advanced Manufacturing Center in 2013.
The Advanced Manufacturing Center was a cooperative effort with Maquoketa Community Schools. It is attached by a passageway to the building housing Maquoketa High School’s welding program.
The new center includes approximately 3,300 square feet of lab space, housing:
- Four horizontal mills
- Four vertical mills
- Eight Haas CNC/Machining simulators
- Robotic plasma cutter
- Two robotic welders
More than $550,000 was invested in creating the new center with funding coming from the Maquoketa School District, Clinton Community College/Eastern Iowa Community Colleges, and a State of Iowa Accelerated Career Education grant.
The center is used for training new students just entering the job market as well as for retraining for current employees.
