Work-Based Learning Coordinator

Muscatine Community College is seeking a Work-Based Learning Coordinator.


Under the direction of the Intermediary and Work-Based Learning Supervisor,
this position will be responsible for establishing improved communication among high schools, the community college, students, businesses, and other professional groups to support development of quality programs.  This position will also be responsible for providing support to partner school districts and the community college in the capacity of connecting students to work-based learning experiences in the community.  This position will work with faculty who offer direct instruction for concurrent work-based learning courses by connecting student to opportunities with industry partners.  The majority of time will be spent connecting students to work-based learning experiences with industry partners and visiting industry sites to provide proper oversight.

Qualifications will include:

  • Associate’s degree required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Proven experience working with business and industry partners.
  • Previous experience working with K-12 students required.
  • Must have the ability to work with a diverse student population, staff, and external constituents.
  • Successful candidate must be skilled in maintaining effective relations with administration and instructional personnel as well as students and the general public.
  • Must have excellent computer skills
  • Successful candidate must possess exceptional communication skills both written and verbal.
