Student Services Specialist

Eastern Iowa Community Colleges' Continuing Education Department is seeking an full-time Student Services Specialist. This position will be located at the Blong Technology Center, Davenport.

Under the direction of the Workforce Training Manager, this position will be responsible for:

  • Provides support for continuing education students and apprentices engaged in both on-site and remote learning programs. Performs clerical functions and registration duties for courses.  Provides information to students, faculty, and staff on student services policies and procedures, maintains and updates computer records.  Conducts orientation sessions with new students.  Answers telephones, greets students, and assists individuals with questions. 

Qualifications will include:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Two years administrative assistant/customer service/student services experience with proven increasing levels of responsibility preferred.
  • Must have intermediate skill set using Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Must possess and exhibit the ability to ensure confidentiality.
  • Must have the ability to work with a diverse student population, staff, and external constituents.
