Administrative Assistant/Purchasing Coordinator

Eastern Iowa Community Colleges - District Office (Business Services) is seeking a FT Administrative Assistant/Purchasing Coordinator.

Under the direction of the Director of Business Services this position will be responsible for:

  • Under general direction the successful candidate will perform administrative assistant functions for the Chief Financial Officer and Director of Business Services. In addition to clerical support this position will be responsible for processing purchase requisitions, reviewing budgets for allowable spending, and processing purchase orders for supplies and equipment.  The successful candidate will work closely with internal staff at all EICC locations and vendors.
     

Qualifications will include:

  • Associates degree in related field is required.
  • Prior experience in Education preferred.
  • Must have previous experience and a solid understanding of purchasing process to include requisitions, budget control, and purchase orders.
  • Must have excellent Microsoft Office Suite skills.
  • Three to five years of basic accounting, budget administration and purchasing support as stated above related skills required.
  • Must possess and exhibit the ability to ensure confidentiality, and have excellent attention to detail.
  • Must have the ability to work with a diverse workforce, student population, and external constituents.
  • Must possess the attitude, knowledge, skills, and motivation necessary to provide quality service that meets or exceeds the expectations of internal and external customers.
  • Successful candidate must possess exceptional communication skills both verbal and written.
