Clinton Community College is seeking a full-time Maintenance/Custodian.

Under the direction of the Facilities Coordinator, this position will be responsible for; performing routine building and custodial maintenance duties as required to clean and keep orderly assigned areas in buildings and adjacent areas.  This position will be responsible for following prescribed written or oral procedures in performance of duties and fills in as necessary for absent custodians on the same shift. Additionally, this position will be responsible for performing general maintenance duties as requested.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must perform maintenance and/or custodial duties as needed.
  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalency diploma. 
  • Previous custodial work experience preferred.
  • Must possess knowledge of general maintenance tasks.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and be physically capable of performing assigned duties.
  • Knowledge of methods, materials, and equipment used in cleaning various types of building surfaces and items of furniture preferred.
  • Must have the ability to maintain schedules providing for regular cleaning of all facilities assigned.
  • Must have ability to carry out oral and written instructions.
  • Must have the ability to work with a diverse student population, staff, and external constituents.
  • Must maintain a commitment to providing quality service and professional integrity that meets or exceeds the expectations of internal and external customers.


Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, climb, crawl, stoop, etc.
  • Prolonged periods standing and walking are necessary.
  • Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces.
  • Must be able to use and ride on industrial equipment as necessary i.e. forklifts, lawn and grounds power equipment, snow removal equipment as necessary.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
