Library Technician I

Scott Community College's Belmont campus is seeking a full-time Library Technician I.

Under the direction of Assistant Dean for Library/Learning Resources the Library Technician, I will perform duties of library reference, collection development, and circulation services. This position will also provide instructional support related to information literacy, basic research, and literacy skills.

  • Qualifications will include:
  • Associate’s degree required, Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Prefer minimally two years of college, and previous library experience including use of automated library systems (Polaris/Simply Reports), social networking, and computer applications, knowledge of Canvas learning management system, and online meeting platforms, and Microsoft 365.
  • Ability to manage a classroom and teach library, basic research, and citation concepts following library and education guidelines.
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills are essential to establish and maintain effective communications with students, staff, and the public.
  • Ability to learn and be responsible for specific functions and activities related to the library.
  • Ability to work with a diverse population students and co-workers.
