GEAR UP Coach

Eastern Iowa Community Colleges District Office is seeking two full-time GEAR UP Coaches (10 month contract with full-time benefits)

Under the direction of the GEAR UP Coach, this position will be responsible for providing career exploration, academic and transition advising, and other academic and personal support services to GEAR UP students.  This position will monitor, track, and report on participation of GEAR UP initiatives.  Included in the responsibilities will be develops college readiness strategies that can be brought to fuller scale.  The successful candidate will be actively engaged in the implementation of GEAR UP grant projects and goals to meet program objectives.

Qualifications will include: 

  • Associates degree required, Bachelor degree preferred.
  • Must possess the ability to work effectively with a diverse student population.
  • Experience in academic advising, program development, and career exploration preferred but not required.
  • Prior knowledge of GEAR UP Cohort is a benefit.
  • Computer literacy skills are essential for program record-keeping and grant reporting.
  • Must possess exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills.
