Anticipated full-time faculty career opportunities for Fall 2021

  • Biology/Anatomy & Physiology Instructor -  Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree in Biology, a Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate semester hours in biology or related disciplines, or an advanced degree to practice medicine. Coursework must provide a foundation for teaching courses in general biology, human anatomy and physiology, and nutrition. Experience teaching at a community college is preferred. 165 Day Contract

    Under the direction of the Dean of Instruction this position will be responsible for: Responsible for teaching courses and assessing learning outcomes in Biology, Anatomy and Physiology, and Nutrition.  Assignments may include alternative delivery methods, evening courses, and multiple sites.  Must demonstrate excellence in teaching and service.  Must demonstrate a commitment to the mission and values of the community college.

  • Nursing - Minimum Qualifications:  Master’s degree in Nursing required.  Must possess and maintain a valid Iowa Registered Nurse license and BCLS certified.  A minimum of 2 years’ nursing experience working in a clinical setting.  Previous teaching experience preferred.  203 Day Contract

  • English Language Acquisition Faculty Coordinator – Minimum Qualifications:  Master’s degree in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL), Education, or other related field with a minimum of 18 graduate study hours in English Language Acquisition required.  Minimum of two years teaching experience in English Language Acquisition at the college level desired. A demonstrated familiarity with developing ELA curriculum and instructional strategies for adults is required.  Ability to manage data as a means of documenting student participation and progress as outlined by funding source requirements.  Must be able to relate well to the community college environment and to international, immigrant, and refugee students.  Must possess knowledge of computers and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Experience in online instruction preferred. Foreign language proficiency preferred. 203 Day Contract
