English Language Acquisition (ELA) Faculty Coordinator

EICC is seeking an English Language Acquisition Faculty Coordinator (203 Day Contract to begin Fall Semester 2021)  

Under the direction of the Dean of Adult Learning this position will be responsible for:

  • Responsible for teaching courses and assessing learning outcomes in ELA.  
  • Assignments may include alternative delivery methods, evening courses, and multiple sites.
  • Must demonstrate excellence in teaching and service.  
  • Must demonstrate a commitment to the mission and values of the community college.  

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Master’s degree in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL), Education, or other related field with a minimum of 18 graduate study hours in English Language Acquisition required.
  • Minimum of two years teaching experience in English Language Acquisition at the college level desired.
  • A demonstrated familiarity with developing ELA curriculum and instructional strategies for adults is required.  
  • Ability to manage data as a means of documenting student participation and progress as outlined by funding source requirements.  
  • Must be able to relate well to the community college environment and to international, immigrant, and refugee students.  
  • Must possess knowledge of computers and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience in online instruction preferred. Foreign language proficiency preferred.
