Content Specialist

Eastern Iowa Community Colleges District Office at the Urban campus is seeking a full-time Content Specialist.

Under the direction of the Associate Director for Marketing & Communications, this position will be responsible for:

  • As part of the district marketing department, the Content Specialist is a creative, flexible, and project-oriented communications professional. This team member will develop, write, edit, and produce original, engaging content for a variety of mediums, including publications, print materials, direct marketing/advertising, EICC website and social media, ensuring all content aligns with the EICC brand. Working as a curator, creator, and social listener, you will have the ability to conceive innovative and visually compelling content through strategic planning and in real-time.

Qualifications will include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, English, Journalism, Communications or other liberal arts-related field required.
  • Experience should include performing professional-level writing and storytelling for marketing and advertising campaigns, with a background in SEO.
  • Must have skilled proficiency to interview, research, develop and write original stories/articles.
  • Must have knowledge of Associated Press (AP) writing style.
  • Possess the proficiency to edit/proofread own work and work of department employees.
  • Requires ability to use computer systems and software, preferably including experience with CMS and/or CRM tools, Adobe Creative Suite, Google Analytics, and project management software.
  • Experience in photography and videography is preferred.
  • Must be able to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a busy setting.
  • Must have the ability to work with a diverse student population, staff, and external constituents.
  • Successful candidate must be skilled in maintaining effective relations with administration and instructional personnel as well as students and the public.
  • Must have excellent attention to detail and accuracy, be able to meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality.
  • Successful candidate must possess exceptional communication skills both verbal and written.
