Associate Director of Economic Development

Under the direction of the V.C. for Workforce and Economic Development, this position will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring EICC strategic economic development initiatives are achieved and maintained. This role will focuses on the development of training solutions to attract and retain business partnerships in Eastern Iowa.  Responsibilities will include management, recruitment, training and retention of Business Solutions Consultants (sales team) within the EICC geographic locations. This position will actively assess client needs and develop robust training plans that will enable the client to leverage local, state and federal program. Manage the financial tracking and monitoring of state training funds.  This position will be engaged in technology transfer as well as planning and consortia development activities to meet the changing needs of area manufacturers. 

Qualifications will include:

  • Bachelor's degree required, Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimally two years of sales experience required.
  • Strong communications skills (oral and written) are essential.
  • Excellent sales and customer service skills with proven negotiation skills.
  • Must have proven supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Previous experience managing budgets and sales contracts.
  • Must possess good planning and organizational skills and be a self-motivated individual.
  • Experience in business-to-business sales and economic development preferred.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite software.
  • Successful candidate must possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must have the ability to work with a diverse workforce, student population, and external constituents.
  • Must possess the attitude, knowledge, skills, and motivation necessary to provide quality service that meets or exceeds the expectations of internal and external customers.
