Admissions and Outreach Coordinator

Eastern Iowa Community Colleges is seeking a full-time Admissions and Outreach Coordinator.

Admissions and Outreach Coordinator, Muscatine Community College

Reporting Relationship:

Assistant Director for Admissions and Community Outreach

Position Summary:

Work with new and prospective students to encourage enrollment.  This position will recruit students for all district programs as appropriate.  Represent the college at a variety of functions, and to diverse populations. 

Minimum Qualifications:

Associates Degree required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Experience in providing educational services or work in marketing or sales preferred. A commitment to the philosophy of a comprehensive community college is required. A proven ability to work effectively with a diverse student population as well as the entire campus community is required. Previous experience in working with business/industry is beneficial. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule with some evening and weekend assignments. Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license, and secure reliable transportation.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Carry out recruitment programs to reach prospective students on campus and in the community.

  2. Conduct high school visits and establish effective communications with high school personnel.

  3. Assist in monitoring program enrollment and recruit students to support maximum enrollment in college programs.

  4. Serve as a college representative at college fairs, expos, and outreach events.

  5. Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge/understanding of all programs offered by EICC.

  6. Promote and assist in organizing group visits, campus tours and events.

  7. Serve as a liaison to and an actively engaged member of the Muscatine community.

  8. Promote understanding of CCC, MCC, and SCC through the establishments of contacts with high school counselors, business and social service personnel, and other external sources.

  9. Manage the communications flow for students from the point of initial contact through the time of enrollment.

  10. Work cooperatively across EICC to develop appropriate plans and activities.

  11. Be committed to providing quality service, meeting or exceeding the expectations of internal and external customers.

  12. Serves as MCC International Student Designated School Official.

  13. Serves as advisor for MCC Student Ambassador Program.

  14. Other duties as assigned by the Assistant Director of Admissions and Community Outreach.

  15. Performs all other duties as assigned.
