Adjunct Instructors

Fall 2021 Career Opportunities

 

Eastern Iowa Community Colleges are seeking qualified instructors for the following positions.  Adjunct teaching may include teaching in a traditional classroom, in an online format, using streaming technology, or in a flex-class combining two or more formats.

Online Instruction

  • Humanities – Minimum qualifications:  Master’s degree in Humanities or any Master’s degree with 18 graduate hours in Humanities, Classics, Humanities and Fine Arts.

  • Physics – Minimum qualifications:  Master’s degree in Physics or any Master’s degree with 18 graduate hours in Physics or Engineering.

  • Anthropology – Minimum qualifications:  Master’s degree in Anthropology or any Master’s degree with 18 graduate hours Cultural Anthropology, Physical Anthropology.

  • Biology – Minimum qualifications:  Master’s degree in Biology or any Master’s degree with 18 graduate hours in Biology related fields.

  • Geography – Minimum qualifications:  Master’s degree in Geography.

  • History – Minimum qualifications:  Master’s degree in History. 

 

Muscatine Community College

  • English – Minimum qualification: A minimum of a Master’s degree in English or Master’s degree with at least 18 GSH in a combination of the following English, Communications, MFA (English), creative Writing, Journalism, Literature, Speech, Technical Writing, English Education. Teaching experience preferred.  

  • General Biology – Minimum qualifications:  Master’s degree in Biology or any Master’s degree with 12 graduate hours in Biology and 6 additional graduate hours in a combination of Biochemistry, Biomedical Sciences, Botany, Environmental Science, Horticulture, Marine Biology, Microbiology, Science Education, Virology, Zoology. 

 

Scott Community College

  • Introduction to Education/Career Exploration – Minimum qualifications:  Master’s degree in Education or Master’s degree with 18 GSH in a combination of qualifying fields. 

  • T/Network Attack: Detection, Analysis & Countermeasures – Minimum qualifications:  A Combination of education, training and at least 6,000 hrs. of relevant tested experience in the field of Cybersecurity.

  • Information Technology – Ethical Hacking – Minimum qualifications:  A Combination of education, training and at least 6,000 hrs. of relevant tested experience in the field of Cybersecurity

 

Scott Community College - Urban Campus

  • Medical Assistant – Minimum qualification: A minimum of an Associate’s Degree as a medical assistant or a related health field.  Current medical assisting certification in one of the following four NCAA – accredited credentials in medical assisting:  1. CMA (AAMA) 2. RMA (AMT) 3. NCMA (NCCT) 4. CCMA (NHA) 5. CMAC (AMCA).  A minimum of three years’ employment in a healthcare facility.  A minimum of 160 hours in an ambulatory healthcare setting performing or observing administrative and clinical procedures as performed by medical assistants. Must be able to instruct and assess student learning and performance of the Medical Assisting Education Review Board’s (MAERB) core curriculum.  Teaching experience preferred. 

Clinton Community College

  • Juvenile Delinquency – Master’s degree in Sociology or any Master’s degree with 18 graduate hours in Sociology, Anthropology, Cultural Studies, Criminology, Gerontology, Public Policy, or Social Work. 12 hrs. must be in Sociology, Anthropology and/or Cultural Studies.

  • Ethics in Criminal Justice – Master’s degree in Criminal Justice or any Master’s degree with 18 graduate hours in Criminal Justice, Law (JD), Psychology, Social Work, or Sociology. 12 hrs. must be in Criminal Justice and/or Law (JD).

  • Introduction to Computers – Master’s degree in Computer Science or Business Administration or Instructional Technology.

  • Introduction to Corrections – Master’s degree in Criminal Justice or any Master’s degree with 18 graduate hours in Criminal Justice, Law (JD), Psychology, Social Work, or Sociology. 12 hrs. must be in Criminal Justice and/or Law (JD).

  • Introduction to Criminal Justice – Master’s degree in Criminal Justice or any Master’s degree with 18 graduate hours in Criminal Justice, Law (JD), Psychology, Social Work, or Sociology. 12 hrs. must be in Criminal Justice and/or Law (JD).

  • Music Appreciation – Master’s degree in Music or any Master’s degree with 18 graduate hours in Music, Fine Arts, Music Education, Music Performance, Cultural Studies.  12hrs. must be in Music and/or Fine Arts.
