Online Instructor

  • Information Technology Instructors (Introduction to Game Design, Server Side Scripting, Mobile Application Development):   Minimum qualifications:  Associates degree or industry certification in the IT field OR a combination of education, training, and at least 6,000 hours of relevant tested experience in the field of IT.     

Belmont Campus

  • Intro to Computers:   Minimum qualifications:  Master’s degree with at least 18GSH in technology.

  • Human Anatomy/Physiology II: Minimum qualifications:  Master’s degree in Biology or any Master’s with at least 18 GSH in a combination of Biology, Biochemistry, Biomedical Sciences, Botany, Environmental Sciences, Horticulture, Marine Biology, Microbiology, Science Education, Virology, or Zoology with 6 hours in field of study.

  • Astronomy: Minimum qualifications: Master’s degree in Physical Science or Master’s with at least 18 GSH in a combination of Natural Science, Science Education, Astronomy, Meteorology, Physics, Life Science. (Mon. & Wed. 5:00 -7:40 p.m.)

  • American Sign Language Instructor: Qualifications will include: Associates degree in related field with coursework in ASL, ASL Linguistics, Deaf Culture/Literature or Associates degree in any field with ASLPI score of 3+ (or higher) or SLPI score rating of Advanced Plus (or higher). Interviewed knowledge determination.

  • Cancer Information Mgt. Instructors: Qualifications will include: Associate’s degree in Cancer Information Management preferred. Must have Certified Tumor Registrar certification. Prefer 3-5 yrs. experience in field

  • Cancer Pathophysiology, Cancer Patient Follow-Up Instructors: Qualifications will include: Cancer Pathophysiology - CTR Certification, three years experience abstracting, familiar with online learning. Cancer Patient Follow-Up – CTR Certification, three years experience abstracting, familiar with online learning.

  • Computer Literacy/Intro to Computers - Minimum qualifications:  Master’s degree in business administration with demonstrated expertise in Microsoft Office Products or a Master’s degree in Technology.

  • English Instructors: Qualifications will include: Master’s degree in English or Communications or MFA (English) or Masters with at least 18 GSH in a combination of Creative Writing, Journalism, Literature, Speech, Technical Writing and/or English Education.

  • Electrical 1, Basic Electricity Instructors: Qualifications will include: Either a bachelor’s degree in a related field or 3 years of documented full time employment in the field. ASE Certified in electrical

  • HVAC Instructor: Qualifications will include: Must have a two year Applied Technology degree or Journeyman card. Minimally 5yrs. of HVAC/R field experience working with residential heating systems or equivalent

  • Humanities – Changes & Choices   Minimum qualifications:  Master’s degree in Humanities or any Master’s with at least 18 GSH in humanities and fine art, classics, anthropology, art, cultural studies, history, literature, philosophy, religion, or linguistics.                                                                                         
  • Information Technology Instructor: Qualifications will include: Associates degree or industry certification and the equivalent of 3 years of full-time experience in an appropriate IT field.

  • Intro to Accounting and Financial Accounting Instructor: Qualifications will include: Masters degree in a Accounting or any master’s degree with 18 graduate hours in accounting courses or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and current CPA, CMA, CFA or other accounting certification required.

  • Nursing, Clinical Instructors: Qualifications will include: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required.   Must have a valid Iowa Registered Nurse license.  Must be BCLS certified.  Minimum of two years nursing experience working in a clinical setting.  Previous clinical teaching experience preferred.  Clinical experience in medical surgical, mental health, or long term care preferred.

  • Public Speaking Instructor: Qualifications include: A Master’s degree in Speech or Communications, or a master’s degree with at least 18 GSH in a combination of Drama/Theatre, English, Linguistics, Mass Media, Speech Pathology and/or Rhetoric.

  • Welding Instructors: Qualifications will include: Associate of Arts degree in Welding required. Journeyman’s card preferred. 6,000 hours of relevant and recent work experience in welding field required. AWS CWI/CWE credentials preferred. Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, FCAW, metallurgy, applied math, blueprint reading and reading welding symbols.

Urban Campus

  • Information Technology Instructors (Games & Simulations II, Mobile Application Development, 3D Model & Character Animation, Audio Programming for Games, Web Development I):   Minimum qualifications:  Associates degree or industry certification in the IT field OR a combination of education, training, and at least 6,000 hours of relevant tested experience in the field of IT.

  • Introduction to Sociology - Minimum qualifications:  Master’s degree in Sociology or Anthropology or cultural Studies or Master’s degree with at least 18 GSH in a combination of Sociology, Anthropology, Cultural Studies, Criminology, Gerontology, Public Policy, and/or Social Work.

 

Classes at Davenport North High School

  • Principles of Microeconomics:   Minimum qualifications:  Master’s degree in economics, or Master’s degree with at least 18GSH in a combination of Economics, Econometrics, Business, Business Administration or Finance.

  • World Regional Geography:   Minimum qualifications:  Master’s degree in Geography, or Master’s degree with at least 18GSH in a combination of Geography, Anthropology, Earth science, Environmental science, Geographic information science or History.

  • Art Appreciation: Minimum qualifications: Master’s degree in Art or Art History or Master’s with at least 18GSH in a combination of Digital Media, Fine Arts, Graphic Arts/Design, Humanities, Illustration, and/or Visual Communications. Classes will be taught M, T, W, R, F 10:00 -3:27 p.m.

  • Art Instructor: Qualifications will include: Masters in Art or Art History or Masters with at least 18 GSH in a combination of Digital Media, Fine Arts, Graphic Arts/Design, Humanities, Illustration, and/or Visual Communications

  • English Instructors: Qualifications will include: Master’s degree in English or Communications or MFA (English) or Masters with at least 18 GSH in a combination of Creative Writing, Journalism, Literature, Speech, Technical Writing and/or English Education.

  • Humanities – Survey of World Religions:   Minimum qualifications:  Master’s degree in religion, or Master’s degree with at least 18GSH in a combination of religion, theology, cultural studies, humanities, philosophy.

  • Music Appreciation: Minimum qualifications: Master’s degree in Music or Master’s with at least 18 GSH in a combination of Music, Fine Arts, Music education, Music Performance, Cultural Studies. Classes will be taught M, T, W, R, F 10:00 -3:27 p.m.

 

Classes at Davenport Central High School

  • Contemporary World Issues:   Minimum qualifications:  Master’s degree in Global or International Studies, or Master’s degree with at least 18GSH in a combination of Global, International or Cultural studies, or Anthropology, or World History.
