Academic Advisor - Temporary

Scott Community College is seeking a temporary full-time. Academic Advisor from October 2022 to June 30, 2023.

Under the direction of the Associate Dean of Students, this position will be responsible for:

  • Providing information about college programs, admissions policies, and procedures. As well, ensuring accurate information sharing and college enrollment is shared with students and prospective students.  Duties will also include thorough academic planning, career exploration, scheduling of courses and college tuition payment options.  This position will also assist in coordinating workshops, orientation, and special advising events.

 

Qualifications will include:

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Must possess excellent computer skills to include MS Office Suite, education platform experience a plus.
  • Must be able to manage multiple tasks, priorities, and confidential information in a complex setting.
  • Must have the ability to work with a diverse student population, staff, and external constituents.
  • Successful candidate must be skilled in maintaining effective relations with administration and instructional personnel as well as students and the general public.
  • Must have excellent attention to detail and accuracy, be able to meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality.
  • Must be available to work flexible hours to include occasional evenings and Saturdays.
  • Successful candidate must possess exceptional communication skills both verbal and written.
